I know there are people it is an accurate representation of, but she was just OOT obnoxious, and nothing made me want to invest my time reading her story involvement. Wasn't a fan of Queen Divine Justice in the least. The Monica/Nakia/Killmonger/T'Challa thing was really starting to cook, but was broken up in such small parts over so many spaced out issues I had trouble keeping track of it. Some of the higher stakes moments like Black Panther being shackled down in a burning building at gunpoint and still talking shit, and Hydroman's plot to crash the plane were really tremendous. This second visit wasn't so much one clear story arc so much as it was where the TPB cut it off. The first story arc was one of my favorite reads of the subreddit.

If you care to, I'd recommend buying from a comic shop as much as possible because they need the support.Ī fun revisit to this series. Note: You can usually buy these trades at bookstores like Barnes and Noble or your local comic book shop. Here's a link to the new 52 Flash on Amazon, which you can buy digital from ComiXology (best if you have a tablet), or trade paperback (a collection of several of the monthly issues).Īlso here's a link to the first volume of Mark Waid's run The Justice League book from the same era is also decent, and the Batman run (if you're interested) from that era is SUPERB. This took place right after "Flashpoint" (which you can read first or not, it isn't essential), which involved Barry messing up the timeline (something I'm sure you're familiar with from the show). If you want good Barry Allen stories with a more modern art style, the "New 52" run that started in 2011 is pretty solid, and continues to be all the way up through the current ongoing run. It's also a run where Wally West is the Flash, not Barry Allen. given that it's from the 90s, the art is very much in the 90s style, which a new reader might find off-putting.

It's widely considered to be essential Flash reading. If you really like The Flash and want to read some of his comics, I would suggest checking out the Mark Waid (writer) run that began in 1990 and ran for several years.
